Salma Hayek's Mexican accent delayed her career.
The Latina beauty is happy with her heritage, but confesses she'd a difficult time in Hollywood when she first gone to live in America aged 22, because she could only get small roles as service personnel or hookers.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "There have been no parts for Latinas. It had been very painful. People advised me to return to Mexico, settle lower and also have kids. I believe they believed sorry for me personally.
"I did not get offered the various components that many people do since they're blonde and speak with no accent."
