Matisyahu shaves beard, drama develops

Matisyahu, the reggae rapper who introduced Orthodox Judaism to mainstream music, revealed towards the Twitterverse yesterday he shaved off his trademark beard. The Web appeared just a little confused: Had Matisyahu left Judaism altogether?

"Forget about Chassidic reggae celebrity," Matisyahu, born Matthew Paul Burns, authored on his Site. "Sorry folks, whatever you get is me &hellip no alias."

The music performer, most widely known for his hit "King With no Crown," described he once thought he needed rules "to become good person," but stated he's now "claiming back myself. Trusting my goodness and my divine mission."

"Prepare for an incredible year full of music of rebirth," he authored. "As well as for individuals worried about my naked face, don"t worry &hellip you haven"t seen all of the my hair on your face.Inch

But confusion over Matisyahu"s belief still lingered after he launched the statement. One commenter on his Site authored, "Like a huge fan of the music as well as your personal voyage, I"m pretty confused at this time.Inch Another stated, "I'm so sad that you simply did this. ... I'm able toInchcapital t even breathe."

The music performer then sent a tweet stating that he'd visited a synagogue as always: "Its individuals who're being awesome, you're awesome. For those individuals who're confused: today I visited the Mikva and Shul much like yesterday."

  • @iTheGeek You must be speaking of Catholics, and not Christians. Catholics believe they can do anything, and as long as they confess it to a priest, it is ok. No true Christian believes sin is ok. Try looking to Jesus for answers, instead of Christians.
