
Freeman, 74, will be provided using the Cecil B. DeMille Award for his outstanding contribution towards the entertainment area, the HFPA, which organizes the annual event, stated Thursday.
He won the Academy Award in 2005 for the best Supporting Actor for his role in "Billion Dollar Baby." In 1990, he won the Golden Globe for the best Actor for his performance in "Driving Miss Daisy." Freeman also gained an Academy Award nomination later for the best Supporting Actor for "Street Wise" as well as in 1994 for the best Actor for "The Shawshank Redemption."
Freeman is presently in production on "The Dark Dark night Increases," the 3rd installment in Christopher Nolan's Batman film series.
The 69th annual Golden Globes ceremony would be to occur Jan. 15 in the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hillsides, Calif. It's to air on NBC.
Robert P Niro was the person receiving the Cecil B. DeMille Award this year.
