"It has been so coincidental but so excellent, because I really like him to dying."
Winstead is the reason why the prequel deviate in the 1982 film, which in fact had an exciting-male cast. Canadian-born actress Kim Bubbs may be the only other female cast member within the 2011 version. Kurt Russell's The Exorcist Audition

@kmnewmyer kurt was never auditioning for the role as luke skywalker.. he did it for Solo
@kmnewmyer kurt was trying out for han solo's role.
Harrison Ford IS Han Solo, but Kurt Russell is the only other person who could have pulled Han Solo off.
Mark Hamill was great as Luke Skywalker. I'm just stating my opinion that if they went with Kurt Russell, he would have been more suited for the Luke roll.
Too excited...not bored enough with his space job like Ford.
terrible. lol. Trying to imagine this squeaky guy as Luke Skywalker and the 3 major emotions Kurt can muster up as Han Solo.
@gjc82071 Well, he had tons of experience as a kid actor, but was probably a bit green for a mature antihero type role. Maybe Snake Plisken was the Han Solo he developed after failing at this audition?
@WanagiAkicita You're right. IMO he lacked experience at this point in his career, and had yet to "come into his own". Now, the cocky/tuff guy person from The Thing (1982) and Escape From New York (1982).....THAT Kurt Russell.....being a more experienced actor, I really think he could have pulled off the Han Solo role splendidly. I can imagine it in my mind. I also think the Nick Nolte from 48hrs, he'd have made a decent Han Solo too. All in all, the cast the right actors for the movie.
Kurt would have made a good bad boy - but I am glad Harrison got it.
If they ever do a movie for "Shadows of the Empire," Kurt Russell should be cast as Dash Rendar.
you pray your cawrds wright, maybe you wrive to talk aboud it.
So I'll just take my other 5000, get my truck back, and you're on your own, Wang.
